This berth is bittersweet for me . It ’s the last leg of The CSA Cookbook Road Trip , but set a drive I ’ve always want to do since moving to California — Highway 101 down the seacoast of Oregon and Northern California . I ’m over the moonshine to be visiting three places on the west coast that are entirely new to me : Bainbridge Island , Portland , and Willamette Valley .
June 24 is my last official book tour stop , and the week remaining will be spend exploring the Redwood Coast before we finale in Lake Tahoe , and then home to Los Angeles . But all of that still feel worlds away !
This preceding weekend in Vermont , we pass on the Hump Day point of our route trip-up , exactly three weeks in with three weeks left to go . I have n’t depend the full mileage thus far , but I ’m think we ’ve logged at least 5,000 miles on ourKia Sedona MPV(which , by the manner , we ’re love more and more as we roll on lots of scenic byway ) .
We ’ve also reached a milestone in the trip where all the signs are starting to point west … and I ’m look forwards to forgather my Midwest readers inChicagoland and the Wisconsin River Valleythis week !

I am specially worked up to team up up withKia Motors USAon this adventure ! They have generously offered to loan me a vehicle for the turn and I am grateful , thrilled , seriously stoke . For the journey , I ’ll be putting the2015 Kia Sedona MPVto the ultimate drive test . I ’m speak internal scenic byroad , back roads , and farm roads … one C of hours on mineral pitch and gravel and in all probability a little dirt , too . I ’ve never drive a Sedona on an escapade before ( which Kia bank note as a multi - purpose vehicle , mind you , nota minivan ) , so by the end of this record book term of enlistment , we ’ll see how it stack up against an SUV .
