Simple elegant design

Today we ’re off to Germany chatter a beautiful landscape , with photos taken and share with us by Michael Frick of a landscape created by Michael ’s father , Werner Frick Winhöring .

It is easy to see the Japanese influence in this landscape , with stillwaterand stone creating much of the landscape painting ’s drama and form .

A few airy sprayer of purpleVerbenabonariensis(Zones 7–10 or as anannual ) soften the Isidor Feinstein Stone of the landscape painting .

Dramatic crushed Angle of sunlight bring in out the legerdemain in this space .

Thewater featureis quite unusual — with a hard-and-fast , stately orthogonal center surrounded by water spread out into a morenaturalistic , informal gravel bound . I also love the wattle fence in the setting . Branches woven between the upright stakes mould this fence . They can be made from branches abridge specifically for that purpose , or made from fallen branches that would otherwise be thrown away .

Verbenabonariensisis sometimes call a“see - through ” plantbecause the open , airy stems earmark you to relish its blooms and see the landscape painting behind it . The royal flowers are also much loved bypollinators .
