Some of the exciting new varieties now available
I trust you ’re enjoying the summer , calculate on where you live the Dominicus may or may not have come in out . But , we ’re not gon na lecture about that …
Back in June , I was very honoured to be a evaluator at the National Plant Show near Birmingham , where we crownedDigitalis‘Appleblossom ’ as our winner . However , I thought you might wish to see a few of the other entrants , as there ’s some really nerveless stuff there , especially in the bush family !
Spiraea‘Walberton ’s Plum Carpet ’

Now , it ’s not very often new Spiraea come along , but when they do , I imagine we should sit up and take card . They are loyalist of agreeableness planting , which tells us that they are tough and resilient .
This new cultivar ‘ Walberton ’s Plum Carpet ’ has lovely plum tree - flushed foliation , and frothy colour changing pinkish bloom ! Bred in the UK too , so it ca n’t be big !
genus Musa ‘ Ever Red ’

This one has been making its way around the plant life circle for a few month already , thanks to its shortlisting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for Plant of the Year too . genus Musa ‘ Ever Red ’ is a hardy banana with reddish striped foliation .
perfectly spectacular , it can be get as a container or border plant , and would face nifty in a tropical border , or even in a bungalow garden mixup !
Philadelphus “ Petite Perfume White ”

This shrub is a new plot modifier , it ’s a truly dwarf form of philadelphus , the mock Orange River blossom ! Blooming at no more than a meter tall , but also flowering at a very young level , “ Petite Perfume White ” also caused a fuss at Chelsea .
credibly one of my favourite perfumes from any flower , and now usable for people dwell on balcony too !
Hibiscus “ Walberton ’s Lunar Delight ”

This is the type of hibiscus that you would salivate over during your summer holidays , wishing you could grow it at home . It turn out though , that you could !
This new breeding is audacious in the UK , and producing the most striking , huge blooms . I am improbably worked up about this one .
Lapageria rosea

It ’s not a young works , but it ’s potentially the first time this plant has been offer in commercial quantities , so it will be quite exciting to find on the garden center bench over the next yr or so .
Lapageria roseamight look terribly exotic , but it ’s really hardy , and is a really versatile climbing iron . From Chile and Argentina , but will enjoy a sheltered spot in the UK . Loving those bell flowers !
Sorbaria “ Crimson Feathers ”

A really interesting novel shrub , which basically changes coloring material every month , as the spring , summer and fall leafage develops . unforesightful at one metre gamey , so perfect for containers or little urban gardens .
Very gentle to grow , I look to see this flying off the garden centre bench very before long !
