Mary’s Garden Getting Ready for Fall

Adding seasonal touches to a garden still going strong

Today we ’re in Mary Hardnett ’s garden , where she ’s gotten the garden quick for fall , add pumpkins andmums , and reseed weed as need in the lawn , then mix it all with the remaining beauties of the summer garden .

With annuals still conk out strong , adding a couple golden pumpkins impart in a fall vibration . The people of colour schema here is pink and yellowish , with pink coming from pentas ( Pentaslanceolata , yearly ) and geraniums ( Pelargoniumhybrid , Zones 8–10 or as annual ) . xanthous lantana ( Lantanacamara , Zones 8–11 or as annual ) , along with yellow foliage from flame nettle and fawn Jenny ( Lysimachianummularia‘Aurea ’ , Zones 3–10 ) , work the yellow to the mix .

The pink - and - yellow scheme is here provided by a pinkish rose and a yellow - leaved barberry ( Berberisthunbergii , Zones 4–8 ) .

Yellow daylily , more pinkgeraniums , and the mature flowers ofpanicle hydrangea(Hydrangeapaniculata , Zones 3–9 ) flank another pumpkin .

A beautiful vine - covered arbor welcome you into this part of the garden , while autumnally - theme cushions invite you to take a breather on the workbench and enjoy the garden .

Pumpkins and a Chrysanthemum morifolium ( Chrysanthemum ) are snuggle in a mass of purple - leave loropetalum ( Loropetalumchinense , Zones 7–10 ) .
