Containers, shrubs, trees, and ponds all working together
My name is John Rohde . My garden is located 15 miles north of Baltimore in Towson , Maryland , in Zone 7b . This is the second full class for this pandemic garden . I delight mixingannualsand perennial with tree diagram andtropicals in containers . There is awater feature , tubs of lotus , a patio , and avegetable gardenat the rear of my sign of the zodiac .
This is the advance to the rearward garden . Thesmall treeon the right is a shadblow serviceberry(Amelanchiercanadensis , Zones 4–8 ) .
The plant in thecontaineris aCotinuscoggygria‘Royal Purple ’ ( Zones 5–8 ) that survive the winter in this position . The tree on the right is a dark gum(Nyssa sylvatica‘Wild Fire ’ , Zones 3–9 ) that shades the pack of cards .

These are the step that lead down to the lower garden . The iris - alike works is aBelamacanda chinensis‘Freckle Face ’ ( Zones 5–10 ) with assortedhostason the right .
This depiction of the steps was take from the bottom front up . This is a wonderful location to show off small-scale Funka , ground cover , perennials , andbulbs . The country has good brightness and is well drained . The Nipponese lantern in the distance is lighted . ‘ Phenomenal’lavender(Lavandula‘Phenomenal ’ , Zones 5–9 ) is found in a dish plantation owner on a pillar above the pond .
Thepondis constructed with a line drive , lights , and afountain .

This is a view of the terrace from the pack of cards above . The humble tree to the right field is a seedlingJapanese maplewith many perennials and tropicals in containers . The container tree is a Carolina silverbell(Halesiacaroliniana , Zones 4–8 ) . There is a curvedretaining wallto the right with ‘ Tardiva’hydrangea(Hydrangea paniculata‘Tardiva ’ , Zones 3–8 ) on the low-toned side . One of the nine lotus in container is seeable on this patio .
This is a view of the fenced vegetable garden with threecompost binsand a partial view of the plants without homes . I growblueberries , tomatoesandasparagus .
On the upper deck are containers ofhibiscus , manyclivia , tropicals , andWisteriafrutescens(Zones 5–9 ) . I will develop anything in a container .
