Over the last month , I ’ve read a half - dozen or so entertaining Bible and a few which were less entertaining – but I wo n’t partake in those . Most the entertaining ones were published byCastalia House , the same publishing house which put out three of my books .
Since I ’m not a TV watcher , Holy Scripture are my main sort of amusement . That and wander through the Mrs. Henry Wood hunting for cryptids . Or being hunt by them , as the case may be .
Here are some I ’ve enjoyed :
A Sea of Skullsby Vox Day
Though darker than his first epic phantasy novelA Throne of Bones , A Sea of Skullsdraws the reader deeper into the world of Selenoth .
I particularly enjoyed the manner various races employ their own forms of magic and worship their deities . The orcs ’ summoning of their unwashed god GorGor is a special striking example .
Also , I just about cheered when the former elven sorcerer Bessarias was called out of retreat . His character is a personal favourite of mine . He antecedently come along in the first-class taleOpera Vita Aeterna .
Even better : A Sea of Skullshas a second half come by the end of the twelvemonth . I look forrad to it – though this title is not for the faint of heart .
The Prometheanby Owen Stanley
Like Stanley ’s late bookThe Missionaries , The Prometheanis wickedly odd and marvelously non - PC .
In it we learn why we can no longer have nice things as an American billionaire creates the perfect robot , ineffectual to be distinguished from a human – and then sees his utopian dreaming turn into a nightmare .
I laughed out loud during this one .
There ’s really no agency any verbal description can do it justice .
Young Man’s Warby Rod Walker
This book is straight - up adventure sci - fi with excellent characters , a great plot and some in earnest coolheaded forged guy .
And zombies .
Sort of .
I read this one then forthwith give it to my 12 - class - old Logos to read .
It reminds me of why I first fell in love with skill fiction before the genre was corrupted by stupid utopian preaching and romance - in - blank storylines .
For Steam and Countryby Jon Del Arroz
This script is a fun steampunk throwback , though I found the main fibre rather irritate at points .
Why would you every which way aviate an airship with no previous training ? Of naturally you ’re go to sleep with matter up !
