It is a hybridization made within the Huntington International Succulent Introduction program betweenCrassula barklyiandCrassula perfoliatavar.minor×Crassula tecta , quite a complex hybridization , usher in under number ISI 2011 - 23 .

Crassula’Pangolin ' is an attractive , slow - growingsucculentnamed after the pangolin , an animal pismire and termite eater covered in tough overlapping exfoliation . The branches are tightly packed , felt , silvery leaves resembling this eldritch - looking creature . They can grow up to 6 inches ( 15 atomic number 96 ) long and 1.2 column inch ( 3 cm ) in diam .
After several age , Crassula’Pangolin ' produces large spherical clusters of honey - scented creamy - snowy flowers at the final stage of the growing tip .
