Brad’s DIY Greenhouse

Making a growing space out of old windows and doors

Hey there ! My name is Brad Johnson , and I garden in northeastern Ohio ( Zone 6b ) . I ’m deal some exposure of my DIY glasshouse / potting shed .

We construct this over the summer of 2023 . After three year of dreaming up this space we finally hit the ground melt down , tear down our dilapidate shed , and get to puzzle out .

We salvaged old windowpane from a couple redoing a sun room , found free French threshold as well , and gear up out to create the design .

It ’s not an easy task build anything from scratch , but as an avid DIYer I was determined to make my dream a realism . Countless inspiration photos and YouTube videos afterward , I felt sure-footed we could do it !

My partner and I spent many evenings and weekend after work construct every inch of this . With dimensions of 16×13 I have plenty of space to winter all mytropicalsand mycuttingsfor the next year — and to start out all the countlessseedsI keep ordering .

It ’s fun to model at my work bench and tummy up or start the season off while watching my favourite show , all in a heated and comfortable space . Who says a potting shed has to be boring ? We have already added a mini fridge too .

My advice to anyone want to harness such a project is to do your research and sleep together your limits . It ’s not for everyone , but if you could woolgather it , you could do it !
