A romantic garden paradise
My name is Ann , and I garden in Zone 6b in Newtown , Connecticut . I have been gardening since 2004 when I lived in Buffalo , New York . I move to Newtown in 2014 . My garden dash isEnglish cottagein pink , purples , and whites . My favorite flowers are my grandmother ’s ‘ Sarah Bernhardt’peonies(Paeonia‘Sarah Bernhardt ’ , Zones 3–8 ) , David Austin roses , foxglove(Digitalispurpurea , Zones 4–8 ) , andAllium‘Millenium ’ ( Zones 5–8 ) .
Ann took this photograph after she returned home from holiday and was tally to see if her blossom survived the heat . She asked her grandchildren to irrigate the plants , and her two - yr - sometime grandson thought he was a fire fighter .
Signs of beauty in the tardy - summer garden : pumpkinsanddahlias(Dahlia variabilis , Zones 8–11 or as cranky light bulb )

This beautiful David Austin resurrect is the variety ‘ Gentle Hermione ’ . She is a soft and finespun garden pink , with outer flower petal that are almost cream .
And here ’s another gorgeous rose develop by David Austin . As is typical with variety from David Austin , ‘ Queen of Sweden ’ combine the goodwill and anatomy of old - fashioned roses with the energy andrebloomof modernistic rose .
Ann ’s careful color selection of pinks , purples , and white give the whole garden a soothing harmoniousness inJunewhen this photo was get .

A regal spire of digitalis ( Digitalispurpurea , Zones 4–8 ) face double-dyed and romantic in front of lavender beardedirises(Irishybrid , bearded grouping , Zones 3–9 ) .
Spring in a vase , with lilac ( Syringa , Zones 3–7 ) blooms joining some wonderfultulips . These are double - flowered tulip , sometimes call “ peony tulips ” for the fashion their heavy , full bloom mimic the face of peony .
It ’s high summertime in the garden with the blooms ofpurple coneflower(Echinaceapurpurea , Zones 3–8 ) .

Purple clematis ( Clematishybrid , Zones 4–8 ) is endorse up by a cloud of lavender , pink , and white blooms behind .
