This heirloom variety is aver to be handed down from the Cherokee Tribe – and without a incertitude is my personal favorite when it comes to tomatoes !   The plants make a large quantity of baseball - sized fruit – and   grow a deep red / purple colour when ripe . When slice open – they are meaty , thick and full of the most awe-inspiring flavor you’re able to conceive of .

Beyond the simple pleasure of slicing and eating – we enjoy to add them to our pasta sauce not only for their intense flavor   – but the cryptical , rich   color they add together to the finished sauce .   It goes without say that they also make the thoroughgoing Lycopersicon esculentum sandwich !    For more on grow heirloom tomatoes – see : Growing Heirloom Tomatoes – Experience REAL Flavor !

A bowl-full of mini belle peppers

They grow hundreds of 1″ peppercorn on each industrial plant in a beautiful raiment of colors from abstemious purpleness to orange to deep red .   The plants are so beautiful in fact that we began to grow them all   around our farm ’s landscape beds to add coloring and interest .

Their flavor is simply invincible , with a spicy zing that does n’t linger on the tongue . We apply them impertinent in salad and salsas – but when dry out – hand down they make the most   awesome pepper flake and pepper grind you will ever taste .   It has the heat of cayenne pepper – but with so much more sapidity !   See : make Hot Pepper Flakes and Powder

Valencia Orange Tomato .

Siberian Garlic

The Valencia Orange tomato – bursting with rich flavor

One of the best tomato producers in our garden last class – the Valencia Orange tomato lives up to its name – chip in back cargo of   perfectly shaped tennis ball - sized orange Lycopersicon esculentum that came on too soon and go well into the late summertime month . This is the perfect tomato to utilise fresh in   salads and salsa – but when you practice it to make homemade tomato soup – it becomes the whizz of the show !   It ’s gruelling to depict other than to say its tang   is out of this Earth !

As tasty as this one is – it is not great to utilize for canning because of it ’s naturally downhearted acidity .   But for soup that are to be immobilise – it is a winner!See : Creamy Tomato Soup Recipe
